€In recent times, it has been suggested that boredom may arise more from an overload of stimulation rather than monotony as it did in ancient times. If fear is a result of boredom and boredom arises from security, then the fear that permeates our culture is not a genuine fear. I sat down to watch Philosophy of a Knife and turned it off two hours into its four hour running time. It didn't take much digging to find philosophical references to it.
